For a bit of fun, how about about a Friday Fiver Challenge

Who can make as much as possible out of a fiver on fridays racing?

You can do this anyway you like, split up the fiver into 50 pence e/w or splurge the lot on one bet.

Plus you can have as many bets as you like out of the original fiver, so if you win on your first race, you can just reinvest it

Rules is, just show your bets, can be a lucky, or an double or accum, doesnt matter, the winner is the one with the best return when the races finishes (Uk and Ireland only)
Have to be e/w or outright, no insurance bets, you provide the fiver!

Fridays races are currently

Doncaster
Yarmouth
Cartmel
Curragh
Newmarket
Newcastle
Chester

so plenty to choose from!

So who is in?  And no just copying SAS lol

i will do this i actually started off with only about £2.50 in my betting account after years of hard gambling went almost bankrupt from it then started on the smaller stakes and not looked back since never again will i stake loads so is something i be doing on here, trouble is with what you was saying Bill too many people want be cocksure on how much they are winning yet never outline how much they often lose on these high stake bets you never ever hear a man/woman mention when they have lost a huge sum of money only hear the tales of the "EPIC" wins and i use that word very loosely

i like the smaller stake bets less pressure on urself and you often chance horses you would not normally i see what i can find tonight for it

I am in, but typing all my bets here will take forerever....
A fiver is about my normal betting budget everyday. with the exceptional 10 or 12 pounds in a day.

That can be an awful number of bets at 1p a go :) :P Will be interesting though. Well done on the initiative!
That + Kelly's new competition, something to look forward to!

It will spark some friendly competition which is often a good idea when you think many pull out the best work when feel competitive i plan on doing a mixture of 1p Lucky 15's with some 10p doubles and 20p Trebles thrown into the mix might splash out and place a 20p Win bet on some of the shorter priced horses is a very good idea

Its going to be interesting to see all the different strategies, many horses or few?
luckys or accums or doubles??

and will you risk more bets if you get to a certain sum or just "bank" it?

Just point out that this is just for fun only and obviously the early bird gets the better price (no exchange prices allowed!)
but it is supposed to be fun and you do of course, get to keep any winnings you make so the incentive is there as well as the coveted title of "Friday Fiver Tipper of the Week"

Great idea Will! I will post my selections later. Is there a prize for who can loser a fiver the quickest...I reckon I would stand a decent chance of that!

Huge price on this horse came 4th in this race last year was sent off that day at 40/1 and was only just over 2L behind Orions Bow who won that race , during the race this was held up and was not really rated on the AW but after this he surely became noticed he wen on to win 3 different races back on the Turf strange how this is the only race they send him to that is on the AW and they rebooked in Hamilton who rode him that day and rode him to few wins since he beat a field of 21 horses at Doncaster most notable one was Robot Boy who comes here 11/1 then he beat him at Haydock so not sure why they feel Robot boy will be able to get 3rd time lucky against this today his last start i thinking might of been just to get a good run behind him 18/1 no way

I probably made a mistake doing it like i did.
Much better approach the one of Sean with so many luckys. one hits and then it is cash in the bank...

my singles are a bit useless in this competition.
Just took the approach of what i would put as bets to turn a profit on the day (actually also put these bets for real cash), forgot there were 20 other sharks to beat to the first place :P
So might be good for a small profit but I bet on the goliaths / multi lucky people to top the challenge today.

Sean went for the kill too fast could pay off in a big way covered all races and angles but then could be the downfall because not mixed properly risky, i agree with the singles are pointless if trying turn a profit on the five to make it to the top of the leader board but saying that you only need to win about £8- £10 to be the top one i think the one that is going to win is Angi she used mixture of her system the shorts and the higher odds and that shows consistency so it might pay off for her today specially has it is a super heinz she only needs them all to place to make a big price and them system horses are known to turn profit specially the shorter odd horses

If we see the horse of old and this one runs like it should/can then that should be a winner was very tempted with that good luck with that one

yes you are right, Sean could mix them differently. i don't like his repeating horses but probably should repeat races picking different horses in the same race to increase the chances of one hitting the board

The heinz looks good indeed.

Yep you would most probably win, the second issue are the odds. On a 4 horses race the odds are tiny and the returns would be too :)
