for what its worth, jack blane is Hugh Taylors pick and many places doing 4 places so happy days

JACK BLANE shaped with plenty of promise on his Fibresand debut, which came over 6f, whilst also giving the impression a return to 7f would suit, and he might be able to improve past the established form horses at the track such as Best Tamayuz and Big Amigo at Southwell today (3.25).
He was drawn widest of all on that Fibresand debut and soon found himself behind as the higher-drawn horses jockeyed for position during the early stages.
Turning for home he was still a fair way adrift of the leaders, but he stayed on best of all in the closing stages to finish a never-nearer third. He was suited by the strong gallop, but his run also suggested he’d be seen to better effect over today’s 7f trip.
His time figure wasn’t far behind the best recent efforts of the more established Fibresand performers here. It’s a minor concern that he has been a bit inconsistent in his career to date, but if he goes the right way from that first Southwell effort he should be involved in the finish here.
