In the 8.45, another 5f event but at the 46-60 handicap level, we run Captain Scooby ridden by Georgia Cox (3) and he is drawn in stall 2 of the 11 current runners. Captain Scooby certainly needs no introduction and is heading out for career appearance 208 tonight. Captain Scooby has been showing signs recently that he is likely to pounce in the near future, he has been travelling well through his races but hasn’t quite got the breaks and gaps at the right time. He is in great order at home and looks and feels like a horse half his age. We have changed his headgear up tonight as sometimes that can spark the old boy up and Captain Scooby through his career has often ran well for a female rider. He has a decent draw, but if Scooby fluffs the start as he often can do that could be negated. If he runs to his best he certainly has still got it in him at this level. Tonight’s race does look tough as Jorvik Prince has been in great form recently and is a short priced favourite again tonight. Captain Scooby is, like Tellovoi did yesterday, surely going to pop up at some point at a decent price. Quite when that will be is impossible to say, but we suspect it won’t be too long as the old boy is in great heart at the moment.
